Angelos

Angelos is the ruler of the Underworld. She was born with the name Laya, which she changed to Tisiphone after the death of her mates. Following the murder of her kits, she killed Achilles and went through renewal to finally receive the name Angelos.

She's a strong-willed she-cat, with an interest in defying destiny. She pushes against the conservative ways of the past and is the first ruler to allow disabled cats to join non-medical ranks.

Azoth

Azoth is the deputy and second in command in the Underworld. He, unlike Angelos, has a very conservative worldview and believes cats should focus only on that which they are suited for. Despite this, he listens to Angelos and defaults to her.

The two have been friends for years, with Angelos being the one to bring Azoth in when he was abandoned as a kit. She urged him to join the soldiers and promoted him to her deputy when she became ruler, even though both times he was reluctant.

Changeling

Born outside of the Underworld, Changeling is a strange cat. He arrived at the edge of the territory one day, dehydrated and starving, paws worn from days of walking. Achilles took him in and allowed him to stay.

When he was fully healed, he joined the Underworld as a trainee. Finally, he joined the Undercover Unit, which was only a few cats at this point, and brought it back to life. He's considered a leader of the Undercover Unit, even if he doesn't think of himself as one.

Hare

Hare is a young Soldier Trainee, put under the care of Azoth. He struggles with his training but it's his dream to be a soldier. He's very aware that Azoth doesn't want him as a trainee, and would much rather him be in another unit entirely, but he doesn't care.

Hare is driven to prove his mentor wrong, and to be the best soldier he can be.

Oliver

Oliver is a strange kid. He's albino. His tail is entirely limp, he's missing his left ear. When he was a few months old he blinded his right eye and paralyzed the eye and ear on that side. He was raised to believe he'd only ever make it in the Medical Unit.

When Achilles died, everything changed. Suddenly Oliver had a chance to join the ranks of the fighting and traveling units. It had always secretly been his dream, but he still carries the burden of self doubt.

Alecto

Alecto is the Underworld's third Tekinos. At nearly 10 years of age, he is the oldest cat currently in the Underworld and the only cat to have personally known Persephone. He was trained by Persephone's son, and carries the trademark mutation that comes with his rank.

He's a cranky old man at times, but only wishes to see the Underworld prosper. Because of this it's rumored he won't die until he trains someone better than him. Kits whisper that he's immortal.

Vivian

Vivian, like Changeling, was born outside of the Underworld. She was born to a bloodthirsty group of servals who were eager to spread their beliefs through tooth and claw. Vivian was never too interested in that path, however, and eventually broke off from her family.

She came to the Underworld in her second year of life, and was intrigued by the mystery of the life of a Tekinos. She eventually became Alecto's trainee, and has never thought of leaving.
